Better late than never ....

Not much time for blogging and I missed Sue's crafty Friday make; mitigating circumstances - looking after my granddaughter. Got up early this morning to do a quick craft, and here it is.

From issue 9 of Mollie Makes, which came out in 2011. (Yes I know I hoard stuff)

A little paper needle case.

And I had to share this.

It's my granddaughter's artwork on my kitchen floor. I bought her some shoes and she was given a sheet of ladybird stickers.

Hope you are having a good week.

The blue bird won

I couldn't decide on which kit to make so I asked two little boys visiting my neighbour next door. They chose the blue bird key ring.

Here it is, hanging about in the shrubs and peas.

Sorry this is such a quick post. What have you made today?

The wait is over

Back in May I blogged about an embroidery project which I was doing for my local Embroiders' Guild. It was a seahorse. Well it's now a bag.

I really enjoyed making it. I met the others and we spent a lovely day sewing and chatting. Everyone's bag was different.

It's nearly Friday, I've joined Sue's Crafty Friday make. Which of these magazine freebies should I make? I've got a few keyrings, a brooch and a purse. Hmmmmmm, will see how crafty I feel when I get home from work tomorrow.

Welcome to my newest follower, Chantal, I  see its a new blog. I've added to my reading list.

Have a great Friday.

Day of plenty

What a day yesterday, went to the local farmers market in the morning. They were shearing sheep this time. They always have a demonstration about some aspect of farming. I'm sorry but I didn't take my camera. One thing I did find out is that the farmers get 30p for each fleece but have to do it to assist the sheep. How come wool is that expensive? Hand spun I can understand it, but commercially spun, how come?????

But some pics I took at home during the day are here.

Garlic harvest drying in the sun.

Red geranium adding colour to the garden.

Collection of shells and stones from my trip to Scotland in May, adding a little something (I know not what!!), to a corner of the patio.

Getting crafty in the late afternoon/evening. I cannot believe I made all these in a few hours. Waited for today to take pics as it was dark when I finished.

These are from Simply Crochet magazine, borrowed from a friend.

The fish are from Mollie Makes, see also Sue from Sweetpea family.  More instructive than my own blog.

Felt good to be making something, being able to sit in the garden making was a bonus.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

I just love the sun

What great weather we have been having, summer defo here. Not too much making going on; coming home from work and sitting in the garden sipping a cool drink. Then later in the evening enjoying watching the swallows swooping through the sky catching their supper.

Talking of supper, really enjoying salads - so quick to prepare and a real feast for the eye.

Hope you have had a good week.

What a view to wake up to

In May, I went to Loch Fyne with some friends for a weeks break.

Thought I'd share this photo, which I took from my bedroom window on the first morning.

All I can say is wow!

Hope you manage to get somewhere different for a break this year.

Strawberries, Pimms, and wet eyes

Well he did it, Andy Murray won Wimbledon. My eyes started leaking with the emotion of it all.

Strawberries & cream and Pimms with a sprig of mint.

Well spotted, of course my strawberries had to be crocheted. The cream is kitchen towel. But the Pimms is real.

I had real ones as well with black pepper instead of cream.

Have finished the back, front and almost one sleeve of my new crochet project. No picture yet.

I'm back!

Soz not blogged for a week but things have been rather hectic.
